Unaware Society From Their Right
Shehla, dressed heavily with light make up, knock on glass windows of every vehicle on road stopped on signal, give bunches of blessings in return of some pennies only. But is still unaware of constitutional rights given to the transgender community.
Eunuch in Pakistan have their own style to get their earning, contribute their happiness by dancing in events or beg on roadside. This third gender is been leading their life without any rights and security since independence. In 2009 after the long struggle of She-male foundation lead by Almas Bobby ,Iftikhar Chaudry Chief Justice Of Pakistan assured full civil rights for the eunuch community . Appeal for granting identity card is also directed to the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) in the name of “others” category but the decision had its affect on paper only and has been of no influence practically.
Infact many of transgender are still unaware of the order by High Court. “ yes, I heard that our identity card will issue to us but no one consider us to ask nor I know what is the procedure.” Said Shehla.
There are over 3000 thousand population of transgenders living in Karachi and estimaltely 400,000 over all Pakistan. The process shouldn’t be hard to trace eunuchs or like many other commands this will also remain in papers.
Bindia Rana, president of the Gender Interactive Alliance (GIA) shows disappointed over the arrogant attitude from the NADRA. “ When the decision announced by Iftikhar Chaudry we were very happy May God bless him, but the implementation is not making progress in identification matter. Nadra has stopped working on our card issue, they demand for our medical certificate but we opposed this act.”
NADRA refused to answered any of question regarding their registration. But existed news make known that NADRA believes the issue isn’t as simple as that. They must first obtain a certification from the ministry of social welfare clearly stating that they are genuinely from the third sex. If they don’t do this, they can’t sift out the posers. They require a similar certification or proof from the disabled, otherwise anyone can claim anything and we will not have a way of keeping track.”
While survey in city many of transgenders revealed that they are unaware on the subject. None any of their linked attendant came to them nor their society Gurus acknowledged them.
“I don’t know really but I know whether they issue us card or not people will never accept us ever. We are not allowed to enter your world. we are happy as we are now” said upset Wiki disappointedly.
“my leg is fractured from many years, doctors treated but not ready to operate me, just by tablets I am managing to reduce pain everyday. Still I hope for something good to happen.” Disable Wafa express their views.
Natasha who is serving in NADRA as Data Entry Organizer appeal to the other eunuchs who have yet unknown from the registration ask their society leader where they live or directly go to her and is agree to have medical test for confirmation.
“this is my request to all transgender out there if they are having problem regarding registration ask their gurus or come to me and there is no problem if they test themselves, I believe this is good for their assurity. “

The process of deposition of bags before get entrance into library is quite risky in Jinnah University Of women. Students have to put their bags in return they are given token written their bag code on it, while returning to the library student has to show the token as evidence to get the bag. Sounds quiet simple and easy but actually is risky and dangerous,How? Risky part is that other girls trickily ask for the bags showing the wrong token or by taken name of friends and robbed the valuable items from the bags. Like wallet, mp3 and sometimes even notes. Surprisingly the bag holders who are responsible for keeping the bags safely as their duty deny if such tragedy happens.
After so much robbery cases girls are now warned to to keep valuable items in the bags whereas on the other hand girls are not allowed to to get in library with loads of objects in hands.Battle starts between the student and librarian if girls found with heavy items carrying into library but no alternate solution is stated yet to resolve this severe matter of university.
